Blickfang Wien Insights: Art prints for everyday wear presented by Mode Wien and food powder developed for balance and strength in the two moon phases

3rd and final part of the serial about Blickfang Wien 2022 (1st part, 2nd part)

The Mode Wien booth of the Vienna State Guild of Fashion and Clothing Technology (Landesinnung Wien der Mode und Bekleidungstechnik) added for the first time jewelry to the presentation of fashion by the guild's members. One of the labels exhibited at Blickfang Wien was 'Sakiba' by designer Susanne Gstettner who cooperates with women in Togo, West Africa for the production of bead crocheted jewelry. Details about the project are published at sakiba.com/about/womens-project/.

Fashion.at was led through the Mode Wien booth. The textile prints developed together with artists for the outdoor coats by designer Edith Langer of 'Langer Modedesign' are wearable artworks available in a limited edition (on view at the image in the middle). Art is also the theme at 'Combinege' by the design duo Amelie Goetzl and Mortiz Gottschalk (both studied art and fashion design at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the University of Art and Design Linz). The label's artful items for everyday wear like a blouse with blue ink-like drawing are impressive.

Blickfang Wien exhibited additionally to design from the fields furniture, fashion, or jewelry food innovations such as the 'Moon Powder'. The food supplement was founded this year in January by Vienna-based Ruth Theuermann-Bernhardt who spoke with Fashion.at about the concept of the superfood product developed from ingredients like turmeric, rose blossoms, or peppermint leaves especially for supporting the female body's balance (with vitamin C) and strength (with iron). The two plant powders 'Full Moon' and 'New Moon' are corresponding with the two moon phases and can be used as powder for a drink or can be added to dishes like salad, porridge or cookies. At moon-powder.com/full-moon-bliss/, the recipe for cookies with Full Moon powder and ingredients like raspberries and almonds can be found.
