Lower Austria Insight: Hat maker Mühlbauer and thermal bath Vöslau presented this year's summer hat

The presentation of trendy summer pieces is a tradition that the thermal bath 'Thermalbad Vöslau' started in 2015 with the launch of its own collection, which is continuously developed in cooperation with Austrian designers. The collection is available directly at the bath, located near Vienna in the Austrian state of Lower Austria, and online. Thanks to its 19th century architecture, Thermalbad Vöslau is one of the most beautiful bathing resorts in the country. The bath opened in 1873 and was built around the original spring of the mineral water. The source of the healthy water was tapped in 1825 by Beethoven's personal physician, Dr. Malfatti von Monteregio. The mineral water brand 'Vöslauer' is associated with elegant and healthy enjoyment, which is also reflected in the collection of designer pieces with a focus on ecological materials. Fashion.at has presented some of the designs over the years, such as the airy dresses by Kalissi (2022, article), the bag and unisex shirts by Arthur Arbesser (2019, article) or the swimsuits inspired by early designs of Rudi Gernreich (2020, article).

The range of the collection of classic, timeless summer fashion grows every year with the collaborations. Yesterday, the latest new design item was presented. It's the second time that Thermalbad Vöslau collaborates with the hat manufacturer Mühlbauer. The label is one of the few fashion design brands that has expanded its business to markets beyond the Austrian and even beyond the European borders. The success story is based on quality craftsmanship and the development of a style which is derived from traditional Austrian fashion classics and Tracht (traditional clothing) for a cosmopolitan lifestyle. Last year, Mühlbauer received the prestigious 'Outstanding Artist Award' from the Austrian Federal Ministry for Arts and Culture for the quality of the design. Mühlbauer hats have been worn by celebrities like Brad Pitt, Meryll Streep and most recently Austria's First Lady Doris Schmidbauer, who wore the exclusively made for her 'Art Gigi' medium brim hat on occasion of her participation in the coronation of Prince Charles III in London in early May (picture on Instagram).
