Austrian public bath Thermalbad Vöslau expanded its collection with airy dresses designed by Kalissi

The collection of sunbathing & swim related pieces by Austrian designers created for the public bath Thermalbad Vöslau is growing steadily since the range's inception in 2015. Pieces like the Rudi Gernreich swimsuit re-interpreting the designer's iconic monokini, launched in 2020 on occasion of an exhibition at the MAK Museum of Applied Arts Vienna, or the Poleit swimwear made from recycled ocean and beach plastic are characteristic for the range which appears like a chronology of design movements.

Kalissi is the latest label which collaborated with Thermalbad Vöslau for pieces inspired by the historical public bath in Lower Austria near Vienna. Founder of the brand is Christina Hrdlicka who studied photography and graphic design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna before starting Kalissi in 2019 as a creative platform where she combines art and design disciplines for the creation of fashion, headwear, interior design, the construction of virtual spaces, fashion films or the design of textiles. The holistic approach to creativity without being limited by borders of traditional definitions of disciplines is the foundation for projects like 'The Villa' presented at the website kalissi.com. The accessible digital building was opened last summer with interior design and architecture by Christina Hrdlicka for the exhibition of past and current Kalissi collections, fashion films and campaigns (details about the making of and inspirations behind 'The Villa').

The Thermalbad Vöslau 'Sommerfrische 2022' collaboration is Kalissi's second in a row related to sun and swimming. Two years ago, the Austrian terry towel company Vossen presented the 'Dolce Vita' collection designed by Kalissi in colorful, happy dopamin-fashion style.
For the new Thermalbad Vöslau series of sunbathing related apparel, the designer mirrors the desire for lightness, peace, balance in dresses in puristic airy cut - one of the wrap dresses with puff sleeves, the other in kimono style. The thermal bath collection's first dresses are made in Austria from 100% cotton in watery tones of waves, white and blue, with matching bathing bags.
