Reality check While the new realities made of online-offline experiences are getting more complex - like twittering in realtime from a music concert via smartphone to friends from other continents, clothing styles seem to become more grounded. The men's style on this page is inspired by a famous drawing by M.C. Escher that remembers the school of Harry Potter. The staircases are running in various directions - it seems as if everything is possible in this world that follows new physical laws. Fashionoffice collected for the 'Reality Check' on this page sunglasses in the appropriate (Potter-)style, a bottle that contains room for a secret message on paper, a notebook in artful sportive design, a bag, and a jacket-shirt-jeans combination for a relaxed, natural look. fig.: Jacket, shirt and jeans in the 'shabby chic' used look from the premium line 'Red Seal' by the Italian label Replay, SS2011. Photo: Maestri_Davide. The collection has a handmade appeal like the treatment of the Japanese denim fabrics and or the leather applications on the sleeves of the jacket. Messager D'Amour 'Blue Passion' containing two sheets of paper by the Austrian jewellery label Frey Wille, seen in January 2011. The bottle is a messenger for secrets on paper; such as love letters. Unisex, rounded glasses (RB 3447) by Ray Ban, SS2011. The rounded glasses reference 'great personalities of the past'. Ray Ban makes no limitation to one special real person or a fictional character. It's up to the user to associate! Tote bag by Burberry, FW2011/12; presented on 15 January 2011 on the catwalk in Milan (video). 'Pavilion dv6'-HP notebook 'Freeride S7' especially designed for men by the French ski label Rossignol, launched in January 2011 together with the new ski collections. Photo: HP. 'Relativity' by M.C. Escher, 1953. Lithograph, 11 x 11 ½ in. (C) the M.C. Escher Company B.V. – Baarn – the Netherlands. Used by permission. All rights reserved. www.mcescher.com. "Are you really sure that a floor can’t also be a ceiling? Are you definitely convinced that you will be on a higher plane when you walk up a staircase?" is Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898-1972) cited by the Akron Art Museum (Ohio, US), where 130 works by the mathematical inspired artist are on view from 12 February to 29 May 2011 at the exhibition "M.C. Escher: Impossible Realities".
