Fashion.at Style Tip Fall 2023: Trachten X Casual Fashion Mix
Over the past few weeks, Fashion.at has published several articles about trachten, traditional Austrian clothing - from statistically derived dirndl trends to an Oktoberfest dirndl guide, trachten trends 2024, and about an interpretation of alpine folklore with tattoo-inspired prints on t-shirts and hoodies. The all-over trachten look may not be for everyone. But the mix of trachten pieces and jewelry with casual clothing is very common in Austria, especially in the country's largest city, Vienna, which is a cosmopolitan city, a melting pot of various cultures, and has no traditional clothing of its own. The Viennese pick their favorite pieces from all over and mix and match them as they like. Anything goes, like this combination of a trachten cardigan and trachten jewelry with western booties, a faux fur bag, and patchwork jeans.

The Austrian jeweler Freywille recently launched the 'Trachtenfest' collection of rings, bracelets, pendants, necklaces, earrings,... The ring on display, 'Victoria', is from the 'Aussee' line and pays tribute to the Ausseerland region of the Salzkammergut with a heart on gold and balanced by a diamond. Austrian designer Lena Hoschek presents a seasonal trachten collection twice a year in addition to her fashion collection.
