Summer Style with Tradition: Thermalbad Vöslau’s Design Journey Carries On with a New Collaboration
What began in 2015 as a creative initiative at Thermalbad Vöslau has evolved into a continuously growing collection of seasonal fashion pieces—capturing the spirit of summer through thoughtful design.

Where Water and Design Flow Together

Nestled in the town of Bad Vöslau, around 35 kilometers south of Vienna, the Thermalbad Vöslau is more than a historic public pool—it is a cultural institution. The bath is part of the Vöslauer mineral water brand and is fed by a natural spring. The water rises at a constant temperature of around 21°C and has been enjoyed for over a century. Founded in 1822, the bath is beloved for its unique location in a forested hillside and its striking blend of Art Nouveau architecture and natural beauty.

The mineral water that flows here is also bottled and sold worldwide under the Vöslauer brand, which for the past decade has been active in the field of design collaborations. Swimwear and lifestyle products designed exclusively for the bath have become collector's items, sold both on-site and through the online shop.

A Growing Tradition: From Rudi Gernreich to Kalissi

Launched in 2015, the Thermalbad Vöslau Kollektion is a curated selection of limited-edition summer items created in collaboration with designers and artists. It includes hats by renowned Viennese label Mühlbauer (2023 Fashion.at article], swimsuits inspired by early pieces from Rudi Gernreich (2020 article), airy dresses by Kalissi (2022 article), and textile designs by artist Peter Jellitsch, who integrated his signature environmental-inspired brushstrokes into garments and bags (2024 article).

Select pieces from previous collaborations remain available as part of the ongoing collection. These include (fact checked today by Fashion.at on thermalbad-voeslau.at):

→ Hat by Mühlbauer
→ Airy dress by Kalissi
→ Swim shorts made of recycled ocean plastic by Poleit
→ Printed shirt and bag by Peter Jellitsch

These items represent not only design excellence but also a shared vision of sustainability and timeless summer freshness.

2025: New Swimwear from Vienna's Soda Lingerie

This year, the collaboration continues with Soda Lingerie, a Vienna-based label known for its thoughtful designs, attention to craftsmanship and focus on durable materials. Soda operates its atelier in Vienna’s 10th district, while the store is located at Neubaugasse 45 in the 7th district.

The new designs for Thermalbad Vöslau include a wrap swimsuit and a pareo, both crafted from Italian jersey fabric made of 82% recycled polyamide and 18% elastane. The swimsuit is available in sizes S, M, and L, and can be worn in at least six different ways—versatile, elegant, and minimal. The pareo is one-size-fits-all and complements the swimsuit perfectly, or can be styled with other summer pieces.

These additions continue the bath's tradition of combining form, function, and eco-consciousness into wearable summer statements.

A Lasting Impression of Summer

The evolving Thermalbad Vöslau collection stands as more than a seasonal gesture—it's a curated narrative of mindful design. Each collaboration reflects a commitment to timeless aesthetics, natural ease, and the thoughtful use of materials, many of which are recycled or sustainably sourced. Whether worn poolside, in the city, or far beyond summer, these pieces capture the quiet luxury of a place where nature, water, and creativity flow together.
