2.5 million Swarovski crystals for the costumes (dresses, shoes, headpieces...) of Madonna's 'Rebel Heart' tour

It's the fourth time that Madonna's design team and Swarovski have worked together for a tour. For the 'Rebel Heart' tour, over 350 items have been crystallized from clothing, shoes, hats, to masks, guitar straps, gloves, and other garments. Over 2.5 million Swarovski crystals were used for the costumes and it took over 1,200 hours to apply the crystals to the costumes.

Fashionoffice received some additional costume related numbers: 10.000 hours have gone into the creation of costumes from Alessandro Michele for Gucci, Alexander Wang, Fausto Puglisi, Jeremy Scott for Moschino, Nicolas Jebran, Miu Miu, Prada and Swarovski for the 'Rebel Heart' tour. More than 1.000 wardrobe pieces are required for all the performers onstage and 500 pair of shoes have been custom made. 60 people make up the costume staff dressing, sewing and adjusting the costumes night after night.
