Deborah Sengl
"LOGO HEROES"
1 June - 14July 2007 Lukas Feichtner Gallery, Vienna www.feichtnergallery.com

fig.: without title, 2007. 120 x 150 cm. Acrylic on canvas

Is labelling the new camouflage in a global society? Or do we need labels to brand our social affiliation when national borders fall?

Deborah Sengl, born 1974, living and working in Vienna, questions the modification of identities in a global consumer society. Company logos replace military decorations on uniforms of the leading forces. National symbols, militarily codes and global branding merge to images of a new artistic reality of our time.

The exhibition presents Sengl's LOGO HEROES, a series of paintings, accompanied by some typical „Viennese views“ on the lifestyle in the city such as at the wurst stand, cafe, tavern. more culture >>>
