Elements of the Japanese Culture
is the theme of the new installation by artist Kazuko Miyamoto (born 1942, Tokyo - living in New York)
.

From May until June 2008 Miyamoto develops during the AIR artist-in-residence program a new multi-media installation about the Japanese culture with motives such as the typical clothing tradition of wearing a kimono at the Factory / Kunsthalle Krems in Austria.

Kazuko Miyamoto was working for 30 years as the assistant of the conceptual artist Sol LeWitt. Today she is directing the 'Gallery OneTwentyEight' in New York. Since the 90ies the artist combines experimental dance performance with fine arts.
On occasion of the opening of the "Open Gallery" on 17 May 2008 in Krems she collaborated with the Austrian Jazz musician Andreas Mayerhofer and presented a fine art - dance - video - music performance.
