Salzburg Insight: Austrian designer Lena Hoschek presented the country's first official hunter jacket with story book-like lining showing forest motifs

The woman's 'Jägerinnenjacke' (hunter jacket) was designed by internationally active Lena Hoschek and developed together with leather and traditional clothing specialist Markus Meindl for the lifestyle and demand for practicability of Austrian hunters. The idea for a special clothing piece in couture quality came from Salzburger Landesjägermeister (state hunter master) Max Mayr Melnhof who is active in wildlife projects like the nature exploration education programme 'Wildtiere auf Achse' (means as much as 'Wild animals on the move') for young people and children from 4 years. Central to the programme is the mediation of knowledge about biodiversity and living spaces of various species with the support of forest pedagogies.

The design is inspired by the traditional clothing of the Alps, the 'Trachten'. In her hands, Daniela Meindl is holding the hunter jacket for the view at the inside. The print of the lining appears like a story book about the forest with the depictions of an owl, fox, hare, and a grouse.
