Preview of participating fashion labels at the design fair 'Blickfang' in Vienna with special focus on Czech designers (21 to 23 October, MAK Museum of Applied Arts)

Each year in autumn, the design fair Blickfang starts its tour through the German language countries Germany, Switzerland and Austria. In 2022, the fair arrives on 21 October in Vienna where around 150 design labels from 13 nations will exhibit until 23 October at the MAK Museum of Applied Arts before the fair's journey is continued to the destinations Hamburg, Zurich, Stuttgart, and Basel. One of this year's special spaces of the fair is the 'Czech Trade' in cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic for the exhibition of around 20 design labels; around a third present fashion, accessories and jewelry. Almost half of this year's 150 exhibitors will participate for the first time, among them several Viennese labels as Blickfang told Fashion.at recently; Blickfang mentioned labels which are in Vienna well known like 'Beware of Mainstream' (bewareofmainstream.com) or 'Madame Kukla' (madamekukla.com). At the database at blickfang.com/en/explore/labels, new fashion labels at Blickfang can be explored with the filters 'Neu', 'Fashion' and the location 'Blickfang Vienna 2022'.

Design Prize Fashion & Jewelry (Designpreis Mode & Schmuck) winner 'Buffet' (buffetclothing.com) will participate this October again. The booth of the Bratislava-based (Slovakia) apparel brand will very probably become one of the best observed booths. Even when the weighting of the criteria for the award changes with the jury members who have not yet been named, the quality aspects for the evaluations have remained mostly the same in recent years such as sustainability, used materials, motivations of the designers, the booth presentation, the processing of the fabrics, and the innovative strength.
