Salzburg Insight: Luis Trenker presented the 'Origins Unlimited' A/W 2024/25 collection in the hometown of founder Michi Klemera's father

The new collection 'Origins Unlimited' Autumn/Winter 2024/25 of the South Tyrolean brand Luis Trenker was presented this week with a fashion show in front of about 200 guests from media, society including long-time customers at the Gusswerk in Salzburg. Luis Trenker's contemporary pieces reflect the connection to South Tyrol, not only with the fabrics, which are mainly made in Italy, but also with the brand's typical international and urban styles, which are developed from its alpine South Tyrolean traditional roots. Founded in 1995 by Michi Klemera in Bolzano, the brand is committed to preserving past traditions while looking to the future. The Luis Trenker collection is inspired by the alpine clothing culture and reflects the soul of the label. The company operates stores in various European cities - in Austria in Kitzbühel, Salzburg, Schladming, Seefeld and Vienna - and plans to open a new store in Hamburg, Germany in May.

About the decision to present the collection in Salzburg, Michi Klemera, founder and managing director of Luis Trenker, says in the press release that Salzburg, as his father's hometown, has always been very important to him and expressed his pleasure to present the collection with the slogan 'Origins Unlimited' in this historical place and to return to its beginnings.

Michi Klemera began his career in his father's fashion company. In an article published on https://www.philosophicum.com/philosophicum-lech/bisherige-vortragende/referenten-2013/michi-klemera, Klemera talks about his early years in his father's shoe wholesale business and the story of how he got the rights to use the name of mountaineer, director and actor Luis Trenker, who became famous with his mountain films such as the Hollywood production 'Der verlorene Sohn' (The Prodigal Son) in 1934, which was filmed in the Alps in South Tyrol, the Dolomites, Austria, the Arlberg and in the U.S. in New York. Even in its early years, the brand attracted the attention of celebrities such as Thomas Gottschalk and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
