Fashion.at tested a curator-like approach for scheduling via online map the exploration tour of artist and artisan ateliers on 16 + 17 October in Lower Austria

Lower Austria is the name of the federal state around Vienna and home to many who are active in the capital. The federal state has advantages such as wide green landscapes and attractive living costs; reasons for many to choose it as their home. At the online map of the official culture service Kulturvernetzung, more than 4000 members from creative fields with a homebase in Lower Austria are listed. At the upcoming 'Tage der offenen Ateliers' (Days of Open Ateliers), around 1000 members participate and will open their studios for visitors on 16 and 17 October (map). The map's division into the regions of Lower Austria, the Waldviertel, Weinviertel, Mostviertel, and Industrieviertel makes it easier to plan a route after geographical criteria to artists and artisans during a one or two day trip.

Another approach to the culture days is to travel curator-like to find hidden gems, promising new talents or already established artists by filtering the search after disciplines like painting, textile, jewellery, wood, sculptor, ceramics, etc. The database shows currently, for example, for 'Ceramics' at the region 'Mostviertel' 68 entries (fast checked today). One of them is the art and design atelier 'zerzer' located at St. Leonhard am Forst in the district Melk. Sculptor Ulrike Zerzer is also presented prominently at the brochure (available as e-paper and can be requested as paper edition via kulturvernetzung.at). The forms Ulrike Zerzer creates might remind people of lava streams and the layers of earth.

At kulturvernetzung.at/de/zerzer-ulrike/, the artist introduces into her work. The sculptures are on the one hand artistic abstractions of natural forms and on the other hand objects of daily use. Additionally, Atelier Zerzer develops tiled stoves as well as art projects in architecture, public spaces and gardens.
