Adventure program Camp Yoshi for BIPOC communities collaborated with adidas TERREX campaign for the call for new outdoor projects with focus on community, sustainability, and adventure

The new adidas TERREX competition 'United by Summits' started today with campaign images, videos and website where projects can be submitted in the three categories 'Community' for removing social, physical, or financial barriers, 'Sustainability' for the protection of the environment, and in the category 'Adventure' which addresses personal achievements. The winner projects will be supported until its realization in the first half of 2023. At the website adidas.com/unitedbysummits, the idea behind the competition and the definition of 'summits' are explained closer. The competition is about individual achievements concerning outdoor activities in the disciplines hiking, biking, climbing, mountaineering, trail running and snow sports. Successful projects such as in the discipline hiking by the adventure program 'Camp Yoshi' for BIPOC (acronym for Black, Indigenous, People Of Color) communities are showcased on the website as examples to inspire the next 'United by Summits' winners.

Three projects will be chosen after a pre-selection, and long list, short-list phases. The details about the selection process are published at the Terms & Conditions together with the judging criteria presented with the questions which will be applied to the entries for the evaluation such as "Is this something that the participant has a realistic chance of achieving, with the support that Promoter can provide? (considering budget of max €25k)". Additionally to the general criteria, each of the three categories has its own specific criteria such as for 'Community' projects one of the questions is "Could this project benefit a community with limited access to nature?". For 'Sustainability', especially time is a theme concerning visible change as well as the long lasting positive effect of the project; etc.

Projects can be submitted from today 18th August until 14th October; the announcement of the winners happens in December 2022. The three winners will participate in the 2023 United by Summits campaign.

"Camp Yoshi is an adventure program for BIPOC communities that is attempting to demystify the outdoors and prove how empowering the wild can be," explained adidas TERREX in the press release. The video 'Summit of the New Dawn' about Camp Yoshi from the series of inspiring videos for projects in disciplines like running or mountaineering was published today at the adidas TERREX YouTube channel.
