Premiere in Vienna: Fanzineist Vienna Art Book & Zine Fair with more than 100 independent publishers at the new location Semperdepot, the atelier house of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna

In recent years, 'Fanzineist' has focused its exhibition activities on virtual spaces. Now, from 26 to 28 May, the art books & zine fair will celebrate its premiere in a new location, the Semperdepot, an architectural gem of Vienna. The Semperdepot was built in the 1870s as a depot and production facility for theater stages and decorations. Today, the building is the atelier house of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and is used for exhibitions of contemporary art such as in the case of the Fanzineist fair, where publications from art zines, artists' books, to comic books will be on display. The program 2023 includes concerts, performances, talks and workshops, as well as events like the 'After Party' on the first day of the fair on 26 May.

The Studio of Graphic Arts and Printmaking Techniques of the Academy of Fine Arts is one of 110 exhibitors from 24 countries at the upcoming three-day event, which is very likely to be a promising highlight of the Vienna art scene for discovering new talents and meeting independent artists and publishers. Exhibitors include the Austrian print and online magazine 'The Gap', the Belgian self-publishing platform 'From Me To You' based in Antwerp, and the cultural institution 'Antenna' from New Orleans, USA. In addition to the presentation at the Semperdepot, 23 exhibitors from 14 countries (fast checked today) have been announced to show their publications and artworks online at fanzineist.com until 26 June.
