Practical directory 'Museums Guide inklusiv' lists Austrian museums with information like barrier-free access, inductive hearing systems, reduced admission, etc

The 'Museums Guide inklusiv' was presented this week at the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna. Insights into the presentation of the publication are published on museumsguide.net. The website is published in German, but can easily be translated from German to English using a browser translator, as verified by Fashion.at today. The author of the guide is Doris Rothauer, who has compiled information for people with various kinds of disabilities from walking disabilities to visual impairments and needs such as wheelchair accessibilities, tactile orientation aids or the requirement to access information in easy-to-understand language.

At the website of the online guide, the directory of museums can be found at museumsguide.net/museen/. Under 'Search & Filters', users can target the search to one of the nine federal states of Austria and apply filters concerning the disability, the needs or search for reduced admission or tours. What's not possible is to search for details of the current exhibition programme of the museums. But this is not the intention of the guide either. The name of the museum can be entered in the free field. It's announced that the information of the guide will be constantly updated.
