Wasseraktiv 2023 photo contest to raise awareness of the value of water calls for submissions

Yesterday, the platform Wasseraktiv (founded in 2009) of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions, and Water Management (BML), launched this year's photo contest on wasseraktiv.at under the motto 'Mein Lieblingsplatz am Wasser' (My Favorite Place at the Water). The contest has been organized by the BML since 2011. Prizes include among others for example a stand-up paddleboard or a wildcat feeding experience in the National Park Thayatal. It's announced that the winners will be chosen through public and jury voting. The submissions can be viewed in the online gallery. Images to the contest can be submitted until 31 August.

The photo contest is one of the activities of Wasseraktiv to involve citizens and raise awareness about the value of water. The online platform provides insights into projects of the Ministry of Water Management for the availability and protection of water resources in Austria. One of the forms of mediation is the water map, where flood protection and water ecology measures concerning renaturation and construction of fish bypasses can be located throughout the country.
