Insight into the Theatermuseum Vienna exhibition 'Austropop. From Mozart to Falco' with focus on the stage appearance of musicians

Since today, the new exhibition of the Theatermuseum 'Austropop. From Mozart to Falco' is open to the public. Displayed at the show are the visual appearances of musicians like Falco and the staging of operas like the 'Magic Flute' by Mozart. The curators developed the dramaturgy of the exhibition from the context of the zeitgeist and historical facts of the time when the legendary Austrian music pieces were written or performed. The influences of politics or culture including sport, lifestyle are the storyboard which guides visitors to the country's music history up to nowadays music scene.

The exhibition design was created by stage designer Sam Madwar. The picture shows in the center the portrait installation of Falco and the musician's signature stage costume, a red uniform. The installation is surrounded by guitars which appear like a starshine around Falco. The musician's hit 'Rock Me Amadeus' from 1985 was used for the soundtrack of the Netflix series Stranger Things, Season 4, Episode 2 'Chapter Two: Vecna's Curse' (released in 2022).
