'Sommer Hitz' bath towel collection with lyrics by Austrian musicians, produced by Herka Frottier for the Caritas fundraising campaign to help people adapt their harvests to changing climatic conditions

The page of the Caritas towel collection 'Sommer Hitz' (translated 'Summer Heat') with a short introduction and a playlist of the songs from which the lyrics on the towels are taken is already published on shop.caritas.at/sommer-hitz. At the moment it's just a preview. It's announced that the 100% cotton towels, which are produced in a sustainable way - the material is made from leftover yarn that is rewound and rewoven - by the Austrian terry towel company Herka Frottier, will be available from 17 May at a price of 49.80 euros. Proceeds from the sale will be donated to climate projects that support people in the Global South affected by climate change. In today's press release, Caritas specifically mentions climate resilience projects that help people in Africa and Asia better adapt their harvests to changing climate conditions.

The excerpts from the lyrics of songs by Austrian musicians such as Ina Regen, Pizzera & Jaus, Kreisky and others refer to the lightness of summer, the heat, living a troubled, desperate life and offer a ray of hope for a better future.

Images, from left: Musician Fuzzmann for example contributed "und ich träume vom Meer" (translated 'and I dream of the sea'), the band Wanda sent "Amore" for the initiative and Cari Cari donated the optimistic call "Summer Sun, wash away my troubles".
