Dance-theatre performance tip: Johann Kresnik's 'Macbeth' with stage, costume designs by Gottfried Helnwein at ImPulsTanz festival (11 July - 11 August)

Today, the pre-sale of the tickets for the performances at the Vienna international dance festival 'ImPulsTanz' has started. One of the events which will very possibly attract the audience the most is 'Macbeth' on the opening day on 11 July. The dance-theatre piece was developed by Johann Kresnik (celebrates 80th anniversary this year) already in 1988 with music composed by Kurt Schwertsik. Artist Gottfried Helnwein created the stage and costume designs for the bloody scenery with references to a real story that happened in German politics in the 1980s.

The Austrian dance company 'TANZLIN.Z' re-performes the 1988 piece 'Macbeth' on 11th and 13th July at Volkstheater, one of the venues of the festival ImPulsTanz.
