Textile visualisations of 'Amusement'
On 13 December 2010, revue theatre costume designer Anja Diefenbach's collaborative work with the students of the international fashion school Esmod Germany was presented at the annual catwalk show 'Sainte Catherine' in Potsdam. This year, the students of Esmod have interpreted the idea of 'Amusement' under the supervision of Anja Diefenbach, who is costume director at the revue theatre Friedrichstadt Palast in Berlin.
Video: Recently, another team work of Anja Diefenbach premiered on stage. German fashion designer Michael Michalsky created around 500 customized costumes for the ensemble (over 100 persons on stage) of the revue 'YMA - zu schön um wahr zu sein/too beautiful to be true' at the theatre Friedrichstadt Palast Berlin (premiere September 2010). The trailer on this page shows costumes for dancers, acrobats... who appear in the story about the world of the stylish female character 'YMA', which is spiced with "seductive bodies, aesthetic provocation, and cultivated madness" Friedrichstadt Palast.
For the Esmod show on 13 December in Potsdam, Anja Diefenbach and the students translated the ideas of entertainment, amusement, sensuality, and luxury into 150 historical inspired fashion pieces that were presented as the 'Barocco-Code'-collection on stage. Esmod supports with the purchase of the event self-help groups in Kenya (www.i-magine.org).
